That’s right—it’s time to introduce our 3rd Annual Summer Reading List. If you’re looking to get lost in the pages (or Kindle screens) of some seriously awesome summer reads, you’ve come to the right place.*
*The right place is Shmoop, in case you were wondering.
- Because, come on, when else will you have the time?
- December 14, 2012 couldn’t come soon enough. We love J.R.R. around here.
- If you’re dreaming of an island getaway, this will majorly rain on your parade.
- Take the summer to be at one with nature… and a book.
- Summertime… and the living is easy.
- Sure, it’s about winter, but summer is the best time to heed the call.
- This one’s about a summer camp—a prison camp, but hey, it’s hot and there’s a lake.
- School’s out, but learning’s not.
- Roald Dahl: a kid’s best friend. He’ll even help you plan some pranks for next year.
- You’re going to want to jump on this bandwagon. Trust us.
- The next Twilight? We think so.
- It’s kind of like The Bacchae (see above). In Spain. With bullfighters.
- Need some inspiration for summer adventure? These are your guys. P.S. Swashbuckling. Great word.
- Self-explanatory.
- Suffering from withdrawal? Relive the magic.
- Duh.
- Just because it’s awesome.
- Lather, rinse, and repeat until you can move on to Mockingjay.
- You know, just some light reading.
I’ve already read a lot of these books, what else would you suggest for an active reader?
The “Divergent” trilogy is good so far…third installment will be released in the fall.
Do you mean Paulo Coehlo’s The Alchemist not Alchemyst (sp?)
